The strength of our business model is that we are able to team up with biotech companies from beginning to end: from late preclinical development to proof of concept in patients. We provide insightful strategic support which can be translated into operational support for all clinical development stages until proof of concept (see Figure 1). We provide consultancy services throughout the entire clinical development including:
- developing a (pre)clinical strategy
- organizing and chairing scientific advisory boards with oncology experts
- supporting fund raising by presenting the clinical development strategy to investors
- conducting feasibility studies that identify the best sites and investigators for patient recruitment
- designing and writing clinical study protocols
Furthermore we offer clinical operational services from initial site selection to the delivery of clinical study reports.
This integrated business model, based on close collaboration through all stages of oncology drug development, offers upside potential to our clients with respect to quality, speed and costs without the burden of fixed staff/investments. Specifically, teaming up with SMS-oncology will ensure no loss of critical information in sequential projects or staff turn-over, reduce unnecessary time delays in selection of service providers at different stages (in contract negotiations, legal formatting of contracts, and administrative burden in financial management or invoicing) and reduce miscommunication by introducing new external teams or personnel at different stages.
